Community Guidelines

Fakescan relies on a small, well-behaved community. These guidelines apply to anything you submit (handles, votes, comments, uploads, reactions). Violations get content removed and, on repeat, accounts banned. App Store guideline 1.2 requires us to publish and enforce these; we take it seriously.
1. Be a real person
One account per human. No automation, scripts, or bots that act on your behalf. No buying or selling votes, likes, or followers. No creating throwaway accounts to evade bans or inflate metrics.
2. No abuse, harassment, or hate
No personal attacks, threats, slurs, doxxing, or coordinated harassment. No content that promotes violence against, or dehumanises, any group based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic. Disagreement is fine; targeted hostility is not.
3. No sexual or graphic content
No nudity, pornography, sexually explicit material, gore, or graphic violence. This applies to uploads, handles, profile data, and any user-generated content. We follow App Store guideline 1.1.4 and remove on sight.
4. No illegal, dangerous, or harmful content
No content that promotes self-harm, suicide, eating disorders, illegal drugs, weapons sales, terrorism, or any activity that endangers life. No content involving minors in unsafe or sexualised contexts. No instructions for violence or for circumventing safety systems.
5. Respect copyright and IP
Only submit content you own or have permission to use. Do not upload, share, or vote-promote material that infringes someone else's copyright, trademark, or right of publicity. If you believe your IP has been misused, contact m07f08a9 with a takedown request including proof of ownership.
6. No spam, scams, or manipulation
No commercial advertising, affiliate spam, link-stuffing, phishing, malware, or attempts to manipulate rankings (vote-trading, sock-puppetry, fake engagement). No misleading content (deepfakes, fake quotes, fake screenshots of conversations).
7. No impersonation
Do not pretend to be another person, brand, or organisation. Parody and commentary accounts are acceptable when clearly labelled.
8. Privacy
Do not share personal information about others (full names, addresses, phone numbers, workplaces, photos) without consent. Do not record or share private conversations.
9. Age
You must be at least 13 (16 in the EU) to use the Service. The Service is not designed for, or directed at, children under that age. If you suspect a younger user, please report them.
10. Reporting
If you see content that violates these guidelines, use the in-app report function (or email m07f08a9). Include a link or screenshot. We review reports within seven days. False or malicious reports may themselves be a violation.
11. Consequences
Violations result in: content removal, temporary mute, account suspension, or permanent ban. We may act without prior notice when public safety, App Store compliance, or law requires it. Severe violations (CSAM, threats of violence, sustained harassment) result in immediate permanent ban and, where applicable, reports to law enforcement.
12. Appeals
If you believe a moderation action was wrong, email m07f08a9 within 14 days. State your account, what was actioned, and why you believe it was in error. We re-review and respond within 14 days.
13. Changes
We update these guidelines when we learn from edge cases. The date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes are surfaced in the app on next launch.
